The continuity of phenomena is a sound sculpture that consists of a wooden structure inspired by file cabinets. Each drawer contains a digital print on tracing paper of a glazed porcelain tile showing a fine crazing pattern. The pattern evolves from almost no crazing in the first drawer to a surface almost completely covered with a network of fine cracks in the fourth drawer. While pulling each draw out, it is possible to hear coming out of the box a recording of that sound that is produced by the tension between the porcelain and the glaze as it cools.
Digital prints on tracing paper, glass, cherry wood & sound, 14” x 14” x 12”.
