The sculptures Nid I and II are inspired by the capacity of birds living in urban surroundings to adapt to their environment and to profit from it in a creative way. For my series of sculptures entitled Nid, I made nests from porcelain coils, in which I incorporated objects regarded as trash (here pill bottles cast in porcelain). I wanted to evoke through this series of sculptures the potential comfort that birds can find in objects that are regarded by humans as worthless or “uncomfortable”.
