Marginalia is a wall installation that was initially created for the Biennale internationale du lin de Portneuf. The margins of books of hours from the Middle Ages are at the starting point of this work produced under the theme of flax. Spinning linen thread from flax with a distaff was often illustrated in the margins of books of hours and other medieval manuscripts. While researching for this project, I discovered several grotesque and often humorous images. In this second iteration of Marginalia, this ancient imagery was juxtaposed with my personal iconography to create this porcelain wall installation that evokes a series of margins in books of hours.
