Paragenèse (Paragenesis) is my second public art project, installed at the Coalia research institute at Cégep de Thetford. The lower part of each module has an opening that presents a composition of crystals and various minerals, which are reproduced by porcelain casting and enameled with lightly coloured, glossy glazes that accentuate the edges of the crystals. The crystals reproduced in porcelain are models of various mineral crystals that are often used in ceramics as raw materials. We find, for example, crystals of anatase, beryl, calcite, chalcopyrite, corundum, galena, kaolinite, kyanite, nepheline and quartz.
