Les eaux compos\u00e9es presents a series a nine low-relief tondos made of ceramics. The installation unfolds across the intervention wall in front of the waiting room of the MRI department at H\u00f4pital de Montmagny. Each tondo is framed with an aluminium ring cut to follow the relief of the ceramic piece. Each relief presents a representation of a parcel of moving water as it can be seen on the Saint-Lawrence river. Each water plane was 3D modelled using a 3D modelling software. Through the use of different technological manipulation, this material evoking fluidity and the passage of time was fixed in the ceramics material. Each tondo is glazed using a glossy and transparent glaze lightly coloured in the shades of blue and blue-green. The amount of pigments used to glaze each tondo varies in order to evokes different possible colour of water going from a light blue to a deep blue-green. The base glaze chosen for this project was chosen for its characteristics of glossiness and transparency that is reminiscent of the characteristics of water itself. It furthermore enhances the different reliefs present in each piece of this installation. <\/p>\n\n

Oscillating between the close and the far, the inside and the outside, the installation opens to a horizon that could potentially be apprehended intimately with the landscape. This installation hence evokes the possible movements of a fluid material fixed in time, as is fragments of waves had been extracted from the Saint-Lawrence river and fossilized in the ceramics material. <\/p>\n\n
